One might ask, "Why use Awesome Goo rather than other repair Goos which do not require heat?"
1. This rake already failed once because the wooden handle shrunk and slid out of the rake.
2. Other repair Goos shrink about 65% as the solvent evaporates and the Goo solidifies.
3. It is difficult for the solvent to escape and evaporate. It cannot go through the metal nor into the wood. It's only way out is to slowly move through the sticky Goo towards the end of the shaft or the top of the rake. Until the solvent escapes, there us a good chance that the rake will fall off the handle again.
4. Awesome Goo has no solvent. The rake is made of steel, the hair drier or heat gun quickly heats the metal quickly and cures the Awesome Goo.
5. Awesome Goo does not shrink, it remains in the space between the shaft and metal so it will hold the handle on the rake for a very long time.
6. This repair could also have been accomplished by pouring hot water of the metal rake joint. With boiling water, the Awesome Goo cures in less than one minute!
